The BBC Project is an undertaking to create a client for the DOC/YAWC protocol. The finished client will have a graphical interface, run on a variety of platforms, support relatively secure network connections to a variety of Bulletin Board Systems, and be released as open source software.
Unlike many previous clients released for the such BBSes, it is a completely fresh start and not derived from the work of Doug "Serendipity" Siebert, except insofar as all client authors are indebted to him for his creation of the client-server protocol which BBSes of DOC and DOC-related origin use.
